Useful beats viral

Rank Asia exists to help travelers make better choices across Asia. We choose clear methods, useful logistics, honest trade-offs, and culturally respectful context over exaggerated “must-see” claims.

First-hand and research-led work

We distinguish first-hand reporting from research-led planning. A research-led article never implies that an editor personally visited, tasted, or tested something. Primary sources are preferred for opening hours, prices, transport, rules, and closures.

Rankings and scores

Every ranking identifies its audience, eligibility rule, geographic scope, evidence date, and limitations. Scored comparisons publish their criteria and weights; their order is calculated from the visible criterion scores. Editorial rankings explain their qualitative order without inventing numerical precision. We do not describe editorial research as reader voting.

Corrections and updates

Travel facts move. Rankings and guides show a reviewed date and are checked on a schedule based on how quickly their details can change. Material errors are corrected promptly; when an error could have changed a reader’s plans or ranking outcome, we add a correction note and update the methodology version when appropriate.

Privacy and safety

We do not publish a person’s school, accommodation, live location, or other identifying private information without a clear editorial reason and consent. Food, allergy, medical, visa, accessibility, and safety notes are general planning information, not professional guarantees.

Commercial relationships

If Rank Asia receives payment, a complimentary experience, or uses an affiliate link, the relationship will be disclosed clearly near the relevant recommendation. Commercial support does not buy a positive verdict.
