Rank Asia keeps tracking to a minimum. Nothing optional runs until you choose to allow it, and you can change your mind at any time.
What is always on
Your cookie choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the name rankasia-consent, so the banner does not reappear on every page. It is not a cookie, it stays on your device, and it is never sent to Rank Asia or anyone else.
Analytics, only if you allow it
If you choose Allow analytics, the site loads Google Analytics 4. It sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, which distinguish visits and usually last up to two years. Rank Asia uses the reports to learn which rankings and guides are useful and how readers find them.
If you choose Essential only, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics data is sent to Google.
Changing your choice
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Switching to essential only removes the analytics cookies Rank Asia set and stops analytics from loading on later pages. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser.
Other websites
Rankings and guides link to official tourism, transport, and government websites, which apply their own cookie policies when you visit them. One food guide shows a photograph loaded from Wikimedia Commons, so your browser contacts Wikimedia when you open that page. Share buttons are plain links; the sharing service is contacted only if you click one.
